Pro Pitcher Alex Katz Joins Team Frost Gear

Professional pitcher and Olympian hopeful, Alex Katz, has joined Frost Gear as the new Director of Strategic Partnerships. Alex brings an incredibly unique array of experiences that will help him contribute to Frost Gear's objective of helping cold weather ball players to combat the elements, train harder, and get better both on and off the field.

Katz pitched for St. John's University (NY) and was part of the team that won the 2015 Big East Conference Tournament. He was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 27th Round of the 2015 MLB Amateur Draft.

In 2015 and 2016 combined, pitching in the Rookie Pioneer League and Arizona League, the Class A South Atlantic League and the Class A+ Carolina League, he posted a 2.87 ERA and 6 saves. In 87.2 innings, he struck out 97 batters.

Katz also pitched for Team Israel in the 2017 World Baseball Classic. He made four relief appearances and pitched a total of 3.1 scoreless innings. In May 2017, Katz was traded to the Baltimore Orioles for two international pool spots. Alex is also currently competing as a member of the Israeli National Team for qualification for the 2020 Olympics to be held in Tokyo, Japan.

Off-the-field, Alex is a successful business person. He currently owns and operates Stadium Custom Kicks, an after-market designer of athletic footwear in baseball and football. He currently works with household names in the big leagues, including Robinson Cano of the New York Mets, Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees, and Jose Altuve of the Houston Astros.

Alex brings a significant amount of athletic experience, business development know-how, and an impressive baseball resume to Frost Gear. He will focus on furthering the FG brand within the ranks of professional ball, developing retail relationships, and forming strategic partnerships in the industry. It is a pleasure to have Alex join the team in anticipation of the upcoming winter.
